UM BioTech Career Expo - Student & Faculty Registration

What: Career presentation and networking with UM students and Montana BioTech employers, co-hosted by the UM College of Humanities and Sciences, UM College of Business, Missoula College, and the Montana High Tech
Business Alliance. Snacks and drinks will be served during breaks.

Who: Open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all University of Montana campuses.

When: 2:15 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 15th

Where: Missoula College, Room 340 (3 rd Floor), 1205 E Broadway St, Missoula, MT 59802

Montana’s bioscience industry ranks sixth in the nation for growth, with a median wage of $75,500 (UM
BBER, 2022). This fast-growing, high-paying sector includes companies engaged in:

Medical research, testing, and laboratories
Drug development, pharmaceuticals, and clinical trials
Medical devices and equipment manufacturing
Agricultural and industrial biosciences
HealthTech software, data analytics, and telemedicine

Whether you love microscopes, machines, code, art, spreadsheets, or people, Montana’s burgeoning
BioTech sector offers opportunities for varied education levels and fields of study.

The UM BioTech Career Expo will introduce students to Montana employers and help you understand
the specific steps you can take, and what skills are needed, to get from where you are into a great internship, research position, or job in BioTech.

Program:

2:15 - 2:30 pm Check-in and Peruse Employer Booths. Sign in and receive your name tag.

2:30 - 3:15 pm Intro and BioTech Career Panel #1: Research, Lab Science, Medical Devices, and
Vaccines

Speakers from bioscience manufacturing, research, and innovation will share their education and career
path, what they do day-to-day, and what their company looks for when hiring for jobs and internships.

3:15 - 3:30 pm Networking and refreshments. Snacks and drinks served. Information tables will be
open for students and faculty to meet employers and ask questions.

3:30 - 4:15 pm Intro and BioTech Career Panel #2: Healthcare Technology, Software, Data Analytics,
and Telemedicine

Learn from professionals working at the intersection of technology and healthcare, designing software
and apps, leveraging data, and building tools to connect patients to better treatment.

4:15 – 4:30 pm Networking and refreshments.
